Many of the projects we undertake include a package of engineering product development translating the conceptual, innovative solutions into easily manufactured, costed solutions. Design Resource practices intensive concurrent engineering with a number of clients, with a major feature of our service being our southern hemisphere location and northern hemisphere partners. This enables us to conduct the design process on a 24 hour basis for fast-track projects, and utilise our engineering design partner in China to increase the availability of engineering capacity.
Our highly evolved process includes steps to reduce time to manufacture and market, including common and high-end CAD systems, co-location of designers with client sites and weekly project reviews by conference and share site updates.
Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) is a critical application during a new product development cycle, when ensuring that a new product is cost competitive. Typical project deliverables include: CAD 3D files, eDrawings, 2D tooling reference drawing files, Industrial Design volume (IDV) specification document, full graphics artwork + positional specifications, SLA or CNC reference files and, project stage by stage history files (in the case of medical devices design).
