Shalini had her first introduction to the studios of Design Resource back in 2003, during a work experience placement awarded to her by the company for her prize-winning HSC Design and Technology Major Work. This valuable experience gave her a rare insight into the inner workings of a successful industrial design consultancy, and inspired her to pursue the profession on a tertiary level.

Following the completion of her Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design with Honours from the University of New South Wales, Shalini returned back to the Design Resource studios in 2009 to undertake a new role as Marketing & Design Researcher. With her meticulous attention to detail, comprehensive research skills and genuine interest in consumers and the product design industry, Shalini’s research role sets up a foundation of knowledge and context for projects undertaken within the studio. Shalini has co-ordinated major research and report documentation projects for leading clients such as RailCorp NSW, Procter & Gamble and Energizer.

With her professional liaising skills and youthful exuberance, Shalini interfaces directly with existing clients in an organisational and support role, and develops multimedia presentations to promote Design Resource’s capabilities to potential new clients. Shalini attends exhibitions, trade shows and major project briefings to keep up-to-date with the latest in Industrial Design, and to source new business development opportunities for Design Resource.

In her spare time, Shalini enjoys the outdoors, curling up with a good book, and often tries her hand at inventive culinary creations in the kitchen. Shalini also has an interest in the decorative arts, specialising in handmade invitations, corporate stationery design and theme decoration & styling, for weddings, birthdays and special events.
